Agartala, Nov 17 (UNI) The Princess of Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is scheduled to visit archeological site of 7th to 9th century of Unokoti of North Tripura, showcases India’s heritage with carvings and sculptures of Lord Shiva on Nov 27 next along with a business delegation to explore investment potential.
The details accounts of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb to Thai ambassador to India Chutintorn Gongsakdi in August this year has evoked interest of the Thai government to see the Unokoti, which is considered to be like Ajanta and Ellora and having potential to bring it under regional tourism circuit.
The princess is coming to India on a short trip on Nov 25 that includes her visit to three northeastern states – Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur. This considered as important for the region that at least 28 big Thai companies are in the process of investment in food processing, automobile and IT sectors in small and medium scale of investment. Thai government is also exploring to create a tourist circuit in the South Asian region, an official of the state government said.
