Thai girl band apologised over nazi t-shirt controversy

Jerusalem, Jan 28 (UNI) One of Thailand's most popular pop bands, BNK48 along with band CEO visited the Israeli embassy on Sunday to apologise as the band members wears Nazi flag on Stage while their performance.
According to BBC, photos of BNK48 singer Pichayapa "Namsai" Natha with the shirt went viral this weekend, causing the Israeli embassy to express "shock and dismay".
The band claims that many Thais are unaware of the history of the Nazis in World War Two.
The band has agreed to take part in an educational workshop on the Holocaust to raise awareness, Smadar Shapira, Israel's deputy ambassador to Thailand said on Twitter.
Ms Shapira also said that “Presenting Nazi symbols by the band's singer hurt the feelings of millions around the world, whose relatives were murdered by the Nazis”.
