Patna, Sept. 22 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the efforts taken by the Bihar Government to check Covid-19 pandemic has yielded fruitful result as the test and recovery rate of Coronavirus infection was more than the national average in the state.
Inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of various projects for Rs 7600 crore related to health, road construction, urban and housing, environment and climate change, water resources and tourism department, Mr Kumar said that nearly 2 lakh samples were being examined everyday for coronavirus infection.
The chief minister said that of these 982 tests were being done through TrueNet and 11,732 were being conducted through RTPCR which would soon be increased to 23,000. He said that 1,78,374 tests were conducted through antigen and maintained that 60, 63,568 samples have so far been examined in the state.
Mr Kumar said that on an average 47,337 tests were being done on the population of 10 lakh in the country whereas it is 47,482 in Bihar.
Similarly, the recovery rate was also higher than the national average in Bihar where 91 per cent people have so far been recovered from coronavirus infection.
Exhorting the people to adopt all preventive measures, Mr Nitish Kumar said that the infection rate in Bihar has declined.
He said that the government was taking all possible measures to check the spread of Covid-19. However, it is difficult to predict anything and the situation may turn worse any time.
He said that researches about this disease were going on in the world but it is not clear how long this disease would continue .
For decline in the number of coronavirus infection in Bihar, Mr Kumar appreciated the efforts of health workers, administration, police, voluntary organisations and Jeevika samuh saying that the government was prepared to face any situation emerging due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Taking pot shot at the opposition, Mr Kumar said that the opposition was raising fingers without being aware of the efforts of the government taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection and appealed to the people to follow the guidelines issued by the government in the wake of the pandemic .
