Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan), Oct 18 (UNI) In the backdrop of terrorists killing civilians in Kashmir, Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik, who has earlier served as the governor of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, said terrorists could not enter a radius of 50-100 kms around Srinagar during his tenure.
Malik, who was in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu for an event on Sunday, called the situation "very sad and painful".
"When I was there, there was no stone pelting, no (terrorist) recruitment and nobody was dying. Terrorists could not enter a radius 50-100 km around Srinagar, now they are killing people in Srinagar and that too the poor. I cannot analyse the situation but it is a very sad and painful thing to happen," Malik told reporters on Sunday.
