Tension prevails in Agatha’s parliamentary constituency over CAB

Tura (Meghalaya), Dec 11 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Meghalaya’s Garo Hills region over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019, as civil society groups shouting slogans against the BJP-led NDA government and Agatha Sangma.
Civil Society groups comprising of Garo Student’s Union, Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People’s, A’chik Youth Welfare Organisation and Association for Democracy and Empowerment on Wednesday held a motor rally through the main thoroughfares of Tura, the district headquarters of West Garo Hills and assembly constituency of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in protest against the central government for the passage of the Bill.
The protesters also condemned Agatha’s extending support to the passage of the Bill in the Lok Sabha.
