Tension grips Jind, Rohtak ahead of parallel rallies

Chandigarh, Nov 25 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Rohtak and Jind towns of Haryana on Saturday ahead of two parallel rallies of All India Jat Arakshan Sangarhsh Samiti (AIJASS) chief Yashpal Malik at Jassia in Rohtak district and BJP MP Raj Kumar Saini in Jind district on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Haryana police nabbed Azad Kisan Mission president Sandeep Bharti, who is spearheading the protest against the proposed rally of Raj Kumar Saini in Jind district, from Kandela village with the help of villagers.
The police was also successful in lifting the blockade of Jind-Chandigarh national highway this evening. The highway was blocked by the Azad Kisan Mission activists, who demanded cancellation of BJP MP Raj Kumar Saini's rally in the district on Sunday. They also blocked Narwana-Patiala road for some time and had threatened to block more roads.
