Tension continues in Takarjala area following CPM-IPFT clash

Agartala, Feb 10 (UNI) The election commission has made deployment of central paramilitary force (CPF) personnel in tribal reserved Takarjala constituency area of Sepahijala district in West Tripura since last night following clash between ruling CPI-M and opposition Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Tripura (IPFT) yesterday, which left as many as 21 persons including three policemen injured.
According to report, three IPFT supporters were injured when CPI-M workers allegedly attacked them in Amarendranagar locality during their door to door campaign. IPFT local leader Netra Debbarma alleged that CPI-M cadres teased them as insurgents being befooled by BJP. When they protested, CPM cadres assaulted them severely.
Later, IPFT supporters were resorted to counter attack on CPI-M workers at Brahmabari area and ransacked a party office. To prevent the group clash, police went to stop the chaos and three police men including two sub-inspectors have serious head injures in the violence.
