Hamirpur (HP), Mar 23(UNI)Though the state government and the district administration have taken strong steps to contain the second strain of the COVID-19, the cases are going up in Hamirpur.
Ten more cases were reported in the district till late last night including nine through Rapid antigen test and one through RT-PCR test. This has raised the number of the active cases to eighty.
CMO, Hamirpur, Dr Archana Soni said that in all 478 samples were tested on Monday out of which only nine were found positive.
Similarly, one man was also found positive ion the local Medical College hospital and all the new patients had been advised Home quarantine.
The CMO said that instructions had been issued to the field staff of the department to take care of those that were under Home quarantine and ensure that they were observing all the guidelines issued under the COVID-19.
She claimed that the work for the sampling was going on smoothly and more samples would be taken as per the directions of the state government to ensure that all was fine in the district.
She appealed to the people to wear masks and observe social distancing norms for their own welfare and benefits failing which they will have to face its consequences.
Meanwhile, the district police have taken strong steps to nab all those that were not wearing the face masks and ten challans were made in the Hamirpur town alone last evening.
