Telangana ULB elections: TRS gets decisive victory in 7 Municipal Corporations

Hyderabad, Jan 25 (UNI) The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Saturday achieved a massive victory by getting a decisive victory in 7 municipal corporations out 9 in the Urban Local Bodies polled held on Wednesday last.
With this, the party set a new national record.
The ruling TRS party, however in the municipalities, won as many as 110 with a massive majority out of 120.
By winning more than 100 Municipalities, the TRS has heralded a new chapter in the country’s political arena.
Both the Congress and BJP, the national parties, which boasted of giving a tough fight to the TRS have, could not even give a nominal fight.
The Congress and BJP got majority in two municipalities each while the TRS alliance party, the AIMIM won one municipalities.
Commenting on the results, TRS party leaders said it is due to the six years governance of TRS Party Chief and Chief Minister Sri K Chandrasekhar Rao, who successfully lead the separate Telangana Statehood, and who is implementing a plethora of development and welfare measures such as and the decisions taken in humanitarian consideration, measures taken for agriculture and rural development, keen interest taken on improving the urban infrastructure, all led to the resounding victory.
On the other hand, the Congress, which claimed that it is an alternative to the TRS, could not give any fight worth mentioning in these municipal polls.
Though the BJP has influence all over the country, it has none in the Telangana State and it could not make any in roads here.
The BJP, which thought it would show its strength in the urban areas, could not even get a nominal presence. This led to the BJP leaders get into despair.
The TRS which proved its dominance in every election that took place after formation of the State, in this municipal polls have scaled a new height where no one could ever reach.
The TRS in 2014, won a decisive victory in the 119-seats Assembly, in 2018 Assembly elections won 88 seats and came to power for the second time.
In the ZP elections took place last year, the TRS too won all the 33 ZPs and set a new record.

In the history of GHMC, TRS is the only political party, which won so many wards, got the Mayor ship on its own without taking support from any political party.
