Telangana’s Govardhan heading for clear gold at Regatta

Hyderabad, Jul 18 (UNI) Telangana sailor Govardhan Pallara sailed safe and was placed a comfortable 5 and 6 and looked set to be heading for a clear gold in the U-16 Optimist class of the 15th Monsoon Regatta at the Hussain Sagar lake here on Thursday afternoon.
Govardhan still needs to sail both the remaining races to clinch the S H Babu Trophy for consistent performance at the Hussain Sagar lake.
Telangana’s Deekshita came in from a far 14th in the 9th race to shock the fleet with a win and an 8th and screamed up to second overall, pushing Aakash Tangai of TSC Mysore to third and Shreya Krishna of Tamil Nadu to 4th spot.
