Hyderabad, Oct 26 (UNI) For the second consecutive day, Telangana reported less than 1,000 COVID-19 cases as the state registered just 582 fresh cases till 2000 hours on Sunday, pushing the cumulative number of Coronavirus cases to 2,31,834 so far.
The decline in the new cases of the Contagious virus was apparently due to a dip in the COVID-19 tests on account of Dasara holidays.
With four more patients succumbing to the deadly Corona virus in the past 24 hours, the overall COVID-19 death toll has risen to 1,311 till date constituting a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent as against the country-wide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Monday.
A total of 1,432 patients had recovered from Coronavirus between Saturday and Sunday taking the aggregate recoveries in the state to 2,11,912 translating into a recovery rate of 91.40 per cent while the National average was 90.2 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state now stood at 18,611 including 15,582 patients being treated in home and institutional isolation.
As many as 14,729 samples were examined to detect the Coronavirus and out of which the reports of 720 swab samples were awaited.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 40,94,417 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the top contributor of COVID-19 cases, reported about 174 positive cases in the last 24 hours, while the remaining cases were reported from other districts, the bulletin added.
