Hyderabad, Dec 6 (UNI) Chief Minister-designate A Revanth Reddy invited people of Telangana to attend his swearing-in ceremony to be held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday afternoon.
The 56-year-old Revanth will be the second CM of Telangana after the Chandrasekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has been in power since 2014, when Telangana was granted statehood and won the 2018 elections as well.
In his open letter to the people, Revanth said the time has come for bringing Indiramma Rajyam (Indira Gandhi’s regime) in Telangana “which was created with the struggle by students, sacrifices of martyrs and the iron will of Sonia Gandhi“, to fulfill the aspirations of people.
He said he would be taking oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana at 1.04 pm on Thursday, to provide democratic and transparent governance as well as form a government for the welfare of weaker sections, Dalits, tribals, minorities, women and youth, and welcomed everyone to be part of the occasion.
TPCC President Revanth while addressing at a press conference at state party party office here after a clear sweep in Telangana elections on Sunday, said the party’s victory dedicated to the martyrs of Telangana statehood movement and the new government will revive democracy, help the poor, protect human rights and take constructive suggestions from the opposition.
He recalled that on December 3, 2009, Telangana statehood activist Srikantha Chary, laid down his life for Telangana’s cause and said the mandate given by the people on December 3 (Sunday), 2023 was fitting tributes to the martyr.
He asserted that ‘Praja durbars’ will be revived where common man can meet the chief minister either in the camp office or at the secretariat.
The present ‘Pragathi Bhavan’ would be thrown open to the poor and the latter will be renamed ‘Br Ambedkar Praja Bhavan, he added.
