Hyderabad,Jan 28 (UNI):With 186 fresh COVID-19 infections recorded until 2000 hours
on Wednesday, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Telangana reached 2,93,923 so far.
The state recorded one death afresh in the past 24 hours to take the total death toll to 1,594 as of Wednesday translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent.,according to a state health department bulletin on Thursday.
A total of 306 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide between Tuesday and Wednesday to push the total number of recoveries till date to 2,89,631 constituting a recovery rate of 98.53 per cent while the national average was 96.9 per cent.
Presently,the state has 2,698 active cases including 1,213 individuals in home or institutional isolation,the bulletin said.
In all,31,119 samples have been tested to detect the contagious virus in the state in a span of 24 hours out of which the results of 494 swab samples are awaited.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic,77,59,415 COVID-19 tests have been
carried out thus far in the state.
Among the districts,the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation remained the top contributor of the infections by reporting 35 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours
followed by Rangareddy (15),Medchal Malkajgiri (12) and Karimnagar and Warangal Urban 11 each.
