Hyderabad, Mar 2 (UNI) The overall number of Telangana's COVID-19 cumulative cases reached 2,99,086 till date after the state recorded 163 fresh coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Monday.
COVID-19 deaths surged to 1,635 after one patient succumbed to the deadly virus in the state in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Tuesday.
A total of 157 people have recuperated from Voronavirus statewide during the past 24 hours to push the cumulative number of recoveries thus far to 2,95,544 constituting a recovery rate of 98.81 per cent while the National recovery rate was 97.1 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state presently stand at 1,907 including 774 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
About 40,181 swab samples have been tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 488 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 87.61 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.
The worst-hit Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued to be the main contributor of the infection by recording 27 fresh Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district (13) cases and Rangareddy district (12) cases.
The remaining Coronavirus cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
