Hyderabad, Dec 28 (UNI) In a dip in daily count, Telangana reported just 205 new COVID-19 cases till 2000 hrs on Sunday taking the total coronavirus caseload in the state to 2,85,068 as on date.
The decline in infection count during the last 24 hours was due to lesser samples testing on account of Sunday being a holiday.
The state reported two fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours pushing the total death toll in the state so far to 1,533 translating a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent.
A total of 551 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide between Saturday and Sunday taking the total recoveries in the state so far to 2,77,304 constituting a recovery rate of 97.25 per cent while the national recovery rate was 95.8 per cent.
The state now has 6,231 active cases of coronavirus including 4,136 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
During the last 24 hours, 27,244 samples have been tested to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 369 swab samples were awaited.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic,67,50,954 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state thus far.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation reported a maximum of 54 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours followed by Rangareddy 15,Karimnagar (13) and Warangal Urban (10).
The remaining coronavirus cases of the day were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
