Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) Continuing the spike in COVID-19 positive cases ,Telangana recorded 1,421 fresh cases till 2000 hours on Thursday taking the aggregate Coronavirus cases to 2,29,001 so far.
The death toll climbed to 1,298 with six more patients succumbing to COVID-19 during the last 24 hours constituting a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Friday.
A total of 1,221 patients had recovered from Coronavirus between Wednesday and Thursday pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 2,07,326 translating into a recovery rate of 90.53 per cent as against the National average of 89.5 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state now stood at 20,377.
In all, 38,484 swab samples were examined to detect the Contagious virus in the last 24 hours and out of which the reports of 877 swab samples of persons were awaited.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 tests conducted in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic has breached the 40 lakh mark reaching 40,17,353.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued to be the major contributor by reporting a maximum 249 positive cases followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district which registered 111 new cases.
The remaining COVId-10 infection cases were registered by other districts, the bulletin added.
