Telangana PO receives 62 parcels containing contaminated water for CM, VIPs

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (UNI) About 62 parcels containing contaminated water bottles meant for Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, several VIPs, officials and celebrities were received at Secunderabad post office here on Thursday.
Police said, "Postal service alerted others after they detected a foul smell emanating from the parcel. All the parcels were booked by an unknown person."
"Upon suspicion, the higher authorities opened the packages only to find bottles containing a black-coloured liquid."
Police sent the samples to the forensic lab for analysis.
Bookings were made in the name of two Osmania University professors, both of whom have claimed ignorance and denied any connection to the parcels.
Mahankali police have launched a hunt to nab the people who tried to mail 62 parcels suspected to be containing industrial effluents to VIPs.

LED installation : 216 MU worth Rs 152 cr saved from July 2017-19

Hyderabad, Sep 18 (UNI) Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao informed the Assembly on Wednesday that 4,32,901 conventional street lights were replaced with energy efficient LEDs in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area and saved 216 MU worth Rs 152 crore from July 2017 to July 2019.
