Telangana is trailing other states in edu:CAG Report

Hyderabad, Sep 22 (UNI) Telangana which is ahead of other states in development and capital expenditure is trailing other states in educational field, according to the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India (CAG) report, which was tabled in both the Houses of Telangana Legislature on Sunday.

Industries and IT Minister K T Rama Rao, who tabled the report in the Council, giving salient features of the report said the capital expenditure which had increased in 2016-17 had come down in 2017-18, according to the report. Fiscal situation of the state Revenue Receipts (RR) and Revenue Expenditure (RE) have increased during the years 2015-16 to 2017-18, even after accounting for inflation. As a percentage of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), however, both RR and RE have decreased. The growth rate of RR and RE has decreased in 2017-18 in comparison to preceding year. Capital Expenditure (CE), which had increased in 2016-17, however, saw a decline in 2017-18.
