Telangana govt appoints Ravi Gupta as new DGP

Hyderabad, Dec 3 (UNI) The Telangana government has named senior IPS officer Ravi Gupta, of the 1990 batch, as the new Director General of Police (DGP) on Sunday.

The Election Commission suspended DGP Anjani Kumar Yadav on Sunday afternoon for violating the Election Code. Notices were also issued to two additional DGs, Sandeep Kumar Jain and Mahesh Bhagwat, for congratulating TPCC chief Revanth Reddy before the election results. Anjani Kumar Yadav is suspected to have discussed the issue of providing security to Revanth.
