Telangana: Criminal cases registered against 4 agencies for selling spurious seeds; seizes 229 Qts seeds

Hyderabad, Jun 13 (UNI) : The Vigilance and Enforcement Department Officials have registered four criminals against agencies and firms in four districts during the extensively conducted raids on seed outlets across the state to curb the supply and sale of spurious seeds during the last 24-hours.
The vigilance officials also registered 6-A cases under EC Act, 1955 against 13 agencies and firms during the raids conducted at nine districts in the state.
During the raids, seized 229.55 quintals of BT cotton, Soybean and other seed besides 74.3 Mts of fertilizer and 268 kgs of pesticide worth Rs 0.58 crores by registering criminal cases under section 420 IPC, rule 10 (a) of insecticide rules, 1971 and 6-A cases under EC Act, 1955 against agencies and firms, said state Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement in a release here on Saturday.
