Hyderabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Telangana BJP unit President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, MP, has written a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) urging him to take immediate steps to resolve the problems faced by artisans and employees working in the Electricity Department.
In the letter, a copy of which was released to the media on Monday, he stated that the artisans and employees in the electricity department have been agitating for many months to resolve their issues, but the government has been indifferent to their concerns, which is unacceptable.
He also pointed out that the lack of attention from the electricity department management and the state government towards the artisans and employees indicates their anti-government attitude towards government employees.
The government has been negligent in solving problems such as GPF and PRC. The demands to provide GPF facilities to those appointed in power companies between 1999 to 2004 and to solve the problems of artisans are legitimate.
The BJP leader emphasized that employees of the Electricity Department played a vital role in the Telangana Movement and actively participated in it. Yet they are still facing many difficulties. He warned that if their just demands are not addressed, the days will come when Telangana employees will turn against this government.
The BJP demands that the government immediately hold talks with the employees and artisans regarding issues like retirement, incentives for employees, PRC, and GPF, he said.
