Telangana ACB traps groundwater officer, data entry operator in ₹20,000 bribe case

Hyderabad, July 15 (UNI) The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday caught a District Ground Water Officer and a data entry operator in Suryapet district while allegedly accepting a ₹20,000 bribe for extending an official favour.
According to the ACB, District Ground Water Officer Megavath Balu and Data Entry Operator (Outsourcing) Kosanaju Venkateshwarlu of the Ground Water Department were trapped by ACB officials of the Nalgonda Range.
The bureau alleged that the officer had demanded and accepted the bribe through the data entry operator from a complainant for granting permission to operate a borewell drilling rig and for not imposing penalties or seizing the rig.
