Teesta in spate, vehicular movement between Darjeeling, other parts suspended

Siliguri, Sept 16 (UNI) Vehicular movement between Darjeeling hills and the rest of the country was today suspended until further notice after the Teesta overflowed, causing flood-like situation and inundating roads at key points of Teesta Bazar under Kalimpong district.
The link to uphills Sikkim from Siliguri remained open, however, vehicular movement on both sides of SH12 towards Darjeeling was halted after the river water crossed the road near Rabijhora.
The authorities alerted people living along the river banks.
