Teachers association demands deferment of Panchayat polls vote counting

Lucknow ,Apr 29(UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Mahasangh, a federation of basic and secondary school teachers of uttar Pradesh, has written a letter to the State Election Commissioner urging not to hold counting of votes of Panchayat elections on May 2.
Convener of Mahasangh Dr R P Mishra said here on Thursday that the Mahasangh has written a letter to the Election Commissioner saying that due to spurge in corona cases and reports of hundreds of employees who had taken part in the election process, tested positive the counting should be deferred till situation improves.
“It is better if we postpone the counting. The election is over. The earth will not fall if we delay the counting by a month or so and hold the same when the situation improves,” Dr Mishra said.
