Teacher Eligibility Test: Kerala not to accept SC ruling

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 9 (UNI) The Kerala Government has decided to move a review petition against the Supreme Court verdict making Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification mandatory for both appointment and promotion of school teachers.
Education Minister V. Sivankutty claimed that the state cannot accept the order being applied to in-service teachers, as it would trigger serious repercussions in Kerala’s education sector.
A Bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Manmohan had, on September 14, delivered the ruling while hearing 28 appeals transferred from various High Courts.
