Vijayawada, Jun 24 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party(TDP) leaders came out with anger over Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for his decision to demolish the Praja Vedika grievance hall, located on the bank of the river Krishna, adjacent to former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s residence.
Talking to mediapersons here on Monday, TDP senior leader Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary said that how a government building would be demolished without specific reason. He alleged that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was accused in 12 corruption cases and the Enforcement Directorate seized Rs 40,000 crore worth property of Jagan Reddy but he is talking against corruption. He took strong exception to the Chief Minister’s order to demolish the Praja Vedika hall.
Former minister Kollu Ravindra, MLC Budda Venkanna said that Chandrababu Naidu requested the Jagan Reddy led government to allocate the Praja Vedika convention centre to the TDP to organise party programmes.
The Chief Minister ordered the demolition of Praja Vedika as Chandrababu Naidu asked it, they blamed. The TDP leaders urged the Chief Minister to reconsider his decision.
The TDP leaders pointed out that the Praja Vedika grievances hall was constructed to organise government programmes. It’s a government building and ordering the demolition is improper, they flayed.
They also pointed out that there are many such structures on the south bank of Krishna river and asked whether the government would demolish all these buildings.
In the wake of the Chief Minister’s order to demolish the Praja Vedika, large number police personals were deployed to the Praja Vedika hall. When the TDP leaders wanted to hold a meeting at N Chandrababu Naidu’s residence, which is located adjacent to the Praja Vedika hall, the police asked the leaders to go from back gate.
The TDP leaders expressed anger over the police for not being allowed through main gate to reach the former chief minister’s residence.
It may be mentioned here that N Chandrababu Naidu in his Europe tour now and he is coming to the city on Tuesday.
