Taylor Swift reflects on bond with Ed Sheeran and Selena Gomez’s wedding

Washington, Oct 6 (UNI) During a recent appearance on The Hits Radio Breakfast Show to promote her new album The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift offered fans a glimpse into her enduring friendship with Ed Sheeran, People reports.
Reflecting on their recent time together, Swift revealed that she and Sheeran caught up at the September 27 wedding of their close friend Selena Gomez, who tied the knot with music producer Benny Blanco in Santa Barbara, California.
“I saw Sheeran last weekend, actually, at a wedding of one of our best friends,” Swift said, referring to Gomez. She added that the two reminisced about his surprise appearance at her Eras Tour show at Wembley Stadium in 2024, where they performed their hit collaboration “End Game.”
“We were just talking about how much we love when he came out onstage with me at Wembley,” Swift said, according to People.
The singer also shared that she and Sheeran often connect over music, especially when working together. “There's really like a sort of strange mind-meld thing that happens between us two, and we've always had it,” she said. “We always will.”
In another segment of the interview, host Fleur East brought up Sheeran’s reputation for being a favorite wedding performer, jokingly asking Swift, who is engaged to NFL star Travis Kelce, if he would be performing at her big day.
“Oh, it would be hard to keep him from it, I think,” Swift replied with a laugh. “That’s the thing, he’s like, ‘I’m always being asked to sing at weddings.’ It’s like, ‘Ed, if there’s a stage, you know you’ll be on it.’ He knows what people want, and he wants to give people what they want.”
She added, “That’s the fun thing about our friendship, we both love performing, and we love writing and singing. We love what we do, and it’s actually not that hard to talk either of us into performing at anything.”
Swift also recalled Sheeran’s own wedding to Cherry Seaborn in 2018, describing it as a magical forest ceremony. The couple now shares two daughters.
According to People, both Swift and Sheeran gave speeches at Gomez and Blanco’s reception, with a source describing the celebration as “full of love and laughter.”
The insider shared that guests danced well into the night, adding, “The vibe was so much fun. They were glowing all night, and both Selena and Benny couldn’t stop smiling.”
