Tax-paying women excluded from Gruha Lakshmi scheme: Siddu govt

Bengaluru, June 7 (UNI) In yet another shocker, women head and their husbands paying income tax or filing GST returns have been excluded from availing Gruha Lakshmi scheme, according to an executive order issued by the Congress government in Karnataka.
The order has been issued by the Department of Women and Child Development.
Under the scheme, the state government promised to pay Rs 2,000 per month, which is expected to cover 1.2 crore women at an estimated cost of Rs 25,000-30,000 crore.
