Tax default: GST dept attaches actor Mahesh Babu’s bank accounts

Hyderabad, Dec 28 (UNI) Hyderabad Goods and Service Tax Department (GST) on Friday attached the bank accounts of famous Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu to recover service tax dues from him.
Mahesh has not paid service tax during the period 2007-08 for the taxable services provided by him as brand ambassador and advertising for promotion of products, the GST commissionerate said in a statement here on Thursday.
The total tax due from the actor was Rs 18.5 lakhs .
