Tata Motors launches Compact SUV Nexon starting Rs 5.85 lakh

Mumbai, Sep 21(UNI) Auto Major, Tata Motors today launched its first compact SUV Nexon with a price tag starting from Rs 5.85 lakh to Rs 8.60 lakhs for petrol and Rs 6.85 lakhs to Rs 9.45 lakh ex-showroom Delhi 'The Nexon is the result of our intent to breakaway from the conventional approach of segmentation,'Tata Motors Chief Executive and Managing Director Guenter Butschek said while launching the much-awated SUV. With this rollout, Tata motors aims to scale up its position to the third or fourth spot in the utility vehicle segment. The vehicle will be on sale, across 650 Tata Motors authorized sales outlets in India from today. Mayank Pareek, President- Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, ;;Our focus is to introduce products that not only enhance the brand, but simultaneously align well with the rising aspirations of customer segments. As part of the aggressive turnaround strategy, we have renewed focus on filling in product gaps and tapping the white spaces that will emerge. Conceptualised as a lifestyle SUV for young progressive individuals, The NEXON is the culmination of this radical shift in thinking and will further expand Tata Motors’ addressable market.' Available in five variants XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ+, the Tata NEXON will come in five colour options Vermont Red, Moroccan Blue, Seattle Silver, Glasgow Grey and Calgary White and will come with a standard warranty of 75000 kms or 2 years, whichever is earlier. The cabin of the Tata Nexon is a fresh take on any SUV, with a multi shade cabin and a bucket load of segment first features. Some of the features are Projector headlamps with DRLs, Eight speaker Harman 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, voice commands, message readout and reply, tront centre armrest with sliding tambour door storage, Smart key with push-button start (wearable wrist band) and more. The Tata Nexon gets an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine with an output of 110 PS power and 260 Nm of torque. There’s also a petrol 1.2-litre Revotron unit with 110 PS output and 170 Nm of torque.
