Tamil magazine reporter murdered by gang

Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu Jan 9 (UNI) A scribe of Tamil magazine was hacked to death by a four-member unidentified gang on the Sattur-Kovilpatti four-lane at Sattur, here tonight.
Police said the deceased Karthigai Selvan (40), who was a Virudhunagar district reporter of “Naveena Netrikkan” was attacked by a gang with sickles, when he was standing in front of a hotel. After murdering him, the gang fled away the spot.
As soon as the police received the murder information, senior police officials rushed to the spot and took the body to government hospital for post-mortem. The motive behind the murder is yet to ascertain.

Kolkata, Apr 19 (UNI) An estimated 66.34 percent of 5.6 million electorate exercised their franchise till 3 PM in the first phase election to three Lok Sabha seats in North Bengal with Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri recording 65.54 per cent, 66.23 per cent and 67.28 per cent polling respectively.
