Talks between govt and senior doctors fail as indefinite fast by Jr doctors enter 10th day

Kolkata, Oct 14 (UNI) Nearly three hours of talks between the West Bengal government headed by Chief Secretary Manoj Pant and 12 forums of senior doctors failed to break the deadlock even as the indefinite fast unto death by the junior doctors of state-owned hospitals demanding the fulfillment of their ten-point charter of demands entered the 10th day on Monday.
After the meeting, Pant told reporters that out of 10-point demands, seven of them were either met or being progressed and monitored as per the Supreme Court directive
and three other demands, which only state administration's prerogative and could not be given a timeline as demanded by the medics in the meeting.
