Kolkata, Feb 10 (UNI) Bollywood Actress Tabu today inaugurated the 3rd Dumdum
International Film Festival along with MP Sougato Roy and local legislator Bratya
Basu who is the minister of Information Technology and Electronics of the state.
The festival actually was conceptualised by Bratya, who also is the local legislator
and a staunch patron of visual arts.
Speaking on the occasion, Tabu said, "Bengal always remained the cultural hub of
India and for me it's my second home. I also packed sweets for my home from Kolkata."
Tabu always had a cordial connection with Kolkata as she attended the Kolkata
International Film Festival and Kolkata Literary Meet too.
Tabu widely known for her unconventional choices of films also acted in a Bengali film
'Abar Aranye' directed by Goutam Ghose.
The first edition of the festival happened in 2013 and then the festival stopped. Again
it started from last year with the advanced patronage of Bratya.
Renowned actor Boman Irani inaugurated the first chapter of the festival while second
chapter experienced bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui lighting the lamp.
