Syria: US-backed SDF captures 157 IS militants

Damascus, Mar 19 (UNI) The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militia captured 157 militants of the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia) during an operation in the village of Baghuz in southeastern Syria, SDF Press Office head Mustafa Bali said on Tuesday.
"#SDF special forces conduct an operation against ISIS terrorist in Bagos. #SDF managed to capture 157 experienced terrorists, mostly foreign nationals," Bali Tweeted.
SDF units have been engaged in the fight against terrorists in Syria and backed by the US-led coalition, whose airstrikes in the region have resulted in multiple civilian casualties, according to Syrian media reports.
