SWR to refurbish heritage Railways heritage sites

Gubballi, 27 Feb (UNI) The Bengaluru Division of the South Western Railway (SWR) on Saturday took up a Project to restore and preserve the Heritage Railway Stations and the Railway Heritage structures in phases, at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore.
In the first phase, restoration and preservation of Four Heritage Stations- Doddajala, Devenahalli, Nandihalt and Avathihalli on Chikballapur-Kolar Line will be taken up, according to a statement issued by the Headquarters of SWR here.
As the first step, an MoU has been signed between the Railways and the Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH) under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which is the first initiative of its kind in South Western Railway, where restoration project is being taken up under the CSR.
