SW Monsoon: Admin sounds 'red alert' in Kodagu District

Madikeri/Mysuu, Jul 8 (UNI) Red Alert was sounded in Kodagu District following the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) warning about possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall under the influence of South West Monsoon which is lashing Coastal belt, Malnad and Dakshina Kannada belt since last three days.
Deputy Commissioner Anias Kanmani Joy, in a release here, said that the rain has already intensified particularly in the hilly areas and it is expected to be more intense in the next three days.
The red alert has been issued particularly in hilly areas and people who are residing in these places have been asked to move to safer places.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
