SW Monsoon active in Telangana : Heavy rain likely in next 48 hrs : MET warns

Hyderabad, Aug 23 (UNI) Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Jangaon, Karimnagar, Komaram Bheem, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Nirmal and Jagtial of Telangana during the next 48 hours, Meteorological Department warned on Friday.

In a bulletin here, it also warned that heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the same period.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a many places/ at few places/ at isolated places in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next five days, the bulletin said.

Southwest Monsoon has been active in Telangana, Rayalaseema and normal in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the last 24 hours.

Heavy rain occurred at isolated places in Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Mancherial, Komaram Bheem, Peddapalli, Nalgonda districts of Telangana.

Heavy rain occurred at isolated places in Guntur and Srikakulam districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh .

Rain occurred at most places in Telangana, Rayalaseema and at a few places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the last 24 hours, the bulletin added.
