New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Ahead of the Bengal Assembly elections, political situation in the state is under "suspense" as rebel Trinamool Congress veteran and former key minister Suvendu Adhikari is maintaining a "disquieting silence" on his political future.
In his first rally on Sunday, at Mahisadal in East Midnapore, since resigning from the Mamata Banerjee government on November 27, Mr Adhikari stayed "mum" on Trinamool and instead portrayed himself as a "people's servant" who would continue to work for people.
"People should have the final word. The Constitution of the country emphasises it is 'for the people,of the people and by the people.' Every arrangement under it should put people first. It is their overwhelming support that will help me to continue to work for them," the Trinamool rebel said without mentioning about the party.
