SUV plunges into Teesa killing BSNL employee, three Nigerians injured in separate car accident in Kolkata

Siliguri/Kolkata, Oct 12 (UNI) An SUV returning to Siliguri from Sikkim with four occupants plunged into the swelling Teesa near Kalijhora on Friday morning killing a BSNL employee while three others
were rescued, police said.
Police said the SUV was returning to Siliguri from Sikkim with three occupants when the driver failed to keep control over the wheels and the car skidded off the road and rolled down into the river. However,three persons helped themselves out of the car before it drowned. One person, who was yet to be identified, remained inside the car, police added.
Efforts were on way to salvage the car from the water. The car was registered with Sikkim motor vehicle department.
In a separate car accident three Nigerian nationals and the driver of an app cab were injured when the car in which they were travelling hit a parked gas laden truck near Chingrighata on EM Bypass early today.
While the two Nigerians were released after being provided with first aid, the third Nigerian was admitted with multiple wounds. The driver was also safe.
