Suspended Waqf JPC members write to Lok Sabha Speaker

New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) The suspended Waqf Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) members on Friday wrote to the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urging him to "instruct the Chairman to conduct the proceedings in a transparent and fair manner".
The suspended members through a letter signed by them alleged, "The Chairman spoke on phone with somebody and suddenly and surprisingly he ordered our suspension with shouting".
The members have urged the Speaker to "instruct the Chairman to conduct the proceedings in a transparent and fair manner" and "postpone the 27th meeting" so that the Opposition members can get adequate time to put forth their claims without any departure from the rules and procedure.
