Surya slams DMK impeachment move against Judge

Bengaluru, Dec 11 (UNI) BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Thursday made a fervent speech in the Lok Sabha, accusing the DMK of “unconstitutional weaponization” of the impeachment process after the party moved a motion against Justice Swaminathan of the Madras High Court.
Surya said the impeachment move was a direct fallout of the judge’s order allowing the lighting of the traditional Karthikai Deepam atop the hillock at Tirupparankundram, and alleged that the DMK was “punishing a judge for upholding a centuries-old Hindu ritual.”
He described the development as a “disturbing escalation” in what he claimed was the DMK’s long-standing political hostility toward Hindu traditions.
