Survey work on Jammu-Poonch Rail line taken up: J&K Govt

Jammu, Jan 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Government today said survey work on Jammu-Poonch rail line has been taken up this year.
"Northern Railway has this year taken up the survey work regarding the construction of new BG lines from Jammu to Poonch via Akhnoor and Rajouri,’’ Minister In-charge planning in a written reply said.
The reply was to the question asked by MLA Shah Mohammad Tantray seeking present status of the proposal with regard to collate Poonch with rest of the country through Railway line and whether it has taken up the matter with the Ministry of Railways, if so, when the work on this project will be started.
