Survey says only 13 pc internet users in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Oct 2 (UNI) Among 18 countries, Bangladesh is one of the lowest internet-using countries of the region where only 13 per cent of the country’s population use internet, said a telecom based regional think-tank on Tuesday.
LIRNEasia, a Colombo based policy think-tank, came up with the disclosure that there is a huge gender disparity in mobile phone use and access to internet in the country.
After interviewing about 2,000 people in November last year, the think tank found that 18 per cent of the men while only 7 per cent of women use internet.
