Survelliance tightened at Gahira Martha marine sanctuary to provide congenial atmosphere for mating of Olive Ridley sea turtles

Kendrapada, Dec 09 (UNI) The surveillance has been tightened up to provide a congenial atmosphere for mating of the endangered olive Ridley in Gahira Martha marine sanctuary after the forest officials sighted about hundreds of mating pairs of endangered Olive Ridely sea turtles at the deep sea .
Rajnagar Mangrove Forest and wildlife Division DFO Dr. Jangyadatta Pati today said the forest personnel engaged in sea patrolling came across hundreds of Olive mating pairs in deep sea on Ekakula site.
This time mating pairs are not seen near the coast due to adverse weather and climatic condition”,informed Debashis Bhoi, the Ranger of Gahirmatha Marine sanctuary.
