Suresh Prabhu asks start-ups to explore ways to increase India's agricultural yield

Panaji, Dec 7 (UNI) Union Minister for Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu on Friday said that predominant presence of small agricultural holdings in the country presented a unique opportunity for start ups to explore various ways to increase crop yield using technology.
Speaking at the Start-up India Global Venture Capital Summit held at
a resort near the city, he said, "India has a very unique system. Almost all land used by agriculture is privately owned, very small segmented holdings and that is why we have an opportunity to increase the yield with different kind of approach.. There is an opportunity for a start-up. How to make a small holding make greater yield with new technologies coming in.''
