Bengaluru, Oct 28 (UNI) Local lad Suraj Prabodh earned a wild card entry into the ensuing Bengaluru Open, a USD 150,000 prize money ATP Challenger, on the virtue of his victory in the Bengaluru Open Wild Card AITA ranking tennis tournament which concluded at the KSLTA here on Saturday night.
In a pulsating final, the top seed Suraj overcame a fighting fourth seed Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash of Tamil Nadu 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3 to take home the winner’s cheque of Rs 39,000 while Mohit was richer by Rs 27,000.
“It feels great to be on the winning side again. I think I have found the mojo I was looking for,” said Suraj after the victory. “It give a great sense of relief to get into the main round of the ATP Challenger,” he added.
