Supreme Court reserves verdict in Rafale deal case

Supreme Court reserves verdict in Rafale deal case

New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Supreme Court on Wednesday reserved its verdict on a slew of petitions seeking a court-monitored detailed investigation into the Rafale deal.
After hearing the case for almost four hours, a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi reserved the verdict. "Verdict reserved. We will pass the verdict," the justice Gogoi said. The other two judges, part of the bench, were Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and KM Joseph.
The hearing witnessed a jam packed court with lawyers, journalists and litigants.
The petitioners, who had moved the apex court seeking a court monitored investigation, include former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, former union minister Arun Shourie, AAP MP Sanjay Singh and lawyer ML Sharma.
They alleged that the deal was illegal and it should be probed how Anil Ambani led Reliance group did get the offset contract in the Rafale deal.
