Chandigarh, Oct 5 (UNI) Sixth seeded Sumit Nagal of India continued his sensational form and defeated 13th seed Francisco Cerundolo by 7-6 (2), 7-5 in the singles quarter-final of the $ 54,160 ATP Challenger in Campinas, Brazil.
Sumit Nagal, ranked 135, wrapped up the match in 121-minutes on Friday.
A more confident Sumit Nagal from Haryana saved five break points out of nine and won five of 14 break points. He kept his first service 69 per cent in while serving two aces and committing six double faults.
Francisco Cerundolo servce one ace and committed three double faults while keeping his first service 72 per cent in. Cerundolo saved nine out of 14 break points and won four out of 9 break points. Nagal won 89 points in comparison to 79 points out of 168 points.
Sumit Nagal will challenge Juan Pablo Ficovich of Argentina in the semi-final. Ficovich terminated the winning show of Nicolas Alvarez of Peru by 6-1, 6-3 in one hour and 20 minutes.
