SUM Hospital to performs first Radial EBUS-guided Cryobiopsy for Peripheral Lung Lesion in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6 (UNI) In a landmark achievement for Odisha’s healthcare sector, the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital 2, Phulnakhara, has successfully conducted the state’s first radial endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), guided cryobiopsy for a peripheral lung lesion.
The patient, a 75 year old woman, had been experiencing breathlessness, persistent cough, and occasional hemoptysis for the past two months.
A CT scan of her chest revealed peripheral consolidation in the left lung.
