Chandigarh, Jan 6 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has appointed young leader and Chandigarh Municipal Corporation councilor Hardeep Singh Butrela as the president of Chandigarh unit of the party.
Giving this information, SAD senior vice president and spokesman Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema said Mr Butrela is a very hard working and visionary leader who has been elected to the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation consecutively for the second term on the SAD ticket.
He said he had also served as Deputy Mayor in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation in 2016.
Hailing from a Taksali SAD family, Mr Butrela is son of late ex-councilor Gurnam Singh. His elder brother late Malkit Singh had also been a councilor in the Chandigarh Corporation.
